FAQ's
1. How are you different from department store and chain photo places?
There are several very important differences that set us apart. Unlike those other places, we don’t treat
photography as an assembly line process. We never schedule more than three sessions on the same day
and when we have a wedding booked, there is nothing else scheduled that day. Our goal is not to
photograph 20 families or clients in a day; our goal is to photograph a few happy and satisfied clients who will
come back to us time and time again.
In addition, most of those places either don't bother to edit your photos, or they don't know how to edit your
photos or they do it in 10 or 15 minutes while you wait so they can try to up-sell you with large, framed prints.
We take the time to edit your images and we truly care about the quality of your pictures. What good does it
do to send you on your way unhappy? You won’t come back to us and you won’t refer any friends or family
to us.
You also don’t have to get the kids dressed up, piled into the car and then drag them through the mall to a
crowded photo studio all the while struggling to get them past the arcade or the toy store. We can even
come to you and we will do your photographs in a location that you choose; one where you and your family
are comfortable so you can relax and allow the real you to emerge.
If we go to an outdoor location, we can bring along props that you and your family will enjoy playing with, or
if we shoot your session in your home, your children will have their own toys to play with. What could be
better?
2. Where will my session take place?
Other than in studio, we can photograph your session in virtually any location you choose. We can come to
your home or we can meet in another location you choose or we can suggest some spots depending on your
individual desires. Some locations are better suited than others, though. For “Expectant Mother” and
“Newborn” photo sessions, your home may the best location. If you choose a location that is private property,
it is your responsibility to get permission from the owner for our access.
3. What happens at my photo session?
Your session will last anywhere from 1 – 2 hours, and you can make as many clothing changes as you like. We
prefer to work in a very relaxed atmosphere; so hopefully, most people will forget they are having their
picture taken. To get a wide variety of photos we will move to various spots in your home, your yard or
whatever location we are in.
4. How long will it take before my pictures are available to me?
It will take anywhere from 10-21 days before your pictures are available. The reason for this is that we like to
take the time necessary to go through your images in detail, edit them, and in some cases add some effects to
a few select pictures. A great deal more time is spent in the digital darkroom than in actually taking the
pictures.
5. I need my pictures quickly, what can you do?
If you have an immediate need to get your photos, we can make them available in a shorter time frame for a
rush fee. Also, if you realize that you need the prints quickly for some reason, that can also be done for a rush
fee. Please call or e-mail for details.
6. I want this to be a very special picture, what can you do?
If you are looking for “that picture”; the one you can hang over your mantle or on the wall in entry of your
home, you can choose to have your picture printed onto a couple of different special formats. We can print
your picture on stretched canvas for that extra special touch or we can print it on a ready-to-hang gallery
wrap. In addition, we can refer you to a wonderful resource for very affordable custom framing for your
special pictures to help you get the finished product you are looking for. Hopefully we can help you avoid the
trap many of us fall into when we intend to get something framed and it sits in the closet or leans against the
wall for months. Let us help you start your own art gallery!
7. Can I get my images on a CD?
Yes! Low resolution digital images are available on a CD for $35.00. Images are 72 dpi, watermarked with our
logo and suitable if you'd like to use them on your MySpace, Facebook pages or other website. We ask that
you add us as a Friend on your Facebook page, become a Fan of Story Tellers Photography on Facebook, and
that you do not remove or alter the watermark.
In addition, all of the high resolution copies of the fully edited photos can be purchased for $425.00. Individual
digital files can also be purchased; the price varies depending on the size of your print order. All high
resolution photos come with a copyright release for non-commercial use & printing. Files are provided on a
CD / DVD. 10% of your print order total can be applied to the cost of a high resolution CD / DVD.
